JGSEE successfully concluded the second cohort of its training course on “Developing Carbon Credit Projects for Rice Farming” on 13–14 January 2025 at the KX Knowledge Xchange in Bangkok. This session, following the overwhelming success of the first cohort, attracted approximately 50 participants, including university lecturers, researchers, and representatives from the private sector.

In the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amnat Chidthaisong, Deputy Director of JGSEE, warmly welcomed participants and gave an introduction to the course.
The two-day course provided participants with advanced insights and practical skills for implementing agricultural carbon credit initiatives. Key topics included the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) for Agriculture, international carbon credit mechanisms such as the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), Gold Standard, and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and methodologies for greenhouse gas emission measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV). Participants also gained hands-on experience in drafting project design documents (PDDs), applying IPCC-standard methods for emissions assessment, and utilizing tools like the Closed-Chamber technique and the DeNitrification–DeComposition (DNDC) model.
