On 15 January 2025, a delegation from the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation visited King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Bangkhunthien Campus. Led by Mr. Ekapong Musigacharoen, Director of the Science, Research, and Innovation Promotion and Utilization Division and Mr. Methee Limniyakul, Director of Regional Network Coordination Group, the visit aimed to explore KMUTT’s research and development infrastructure and assess its readiness for establishing the Lower Central Science Park.
The delegation was welcomed by KMUTT’s leadership, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, Mr. Thanitsorn Chirapornchai, Vice President for Ratchaburi Campus, Dr. Annop Nopharatana, Vice President for Bangkhunthien Campus, Asst. Prof. Dr. Santi Charoenpornpattana, Vice President for Planning and Strategy, and Ms. Sopida Boonaneksap, Director of the Science and Industrial Park Office. The KMUTT team provided an overview of the university’s R&D capabilities, infrastructure, and its potential to support the Lower Central Science Park initiative.
Following the briefing, the delegation toured key facilities, including the Food Innovation Pilot Plant, the National Biopharmaceutical Facility (NBF), and the Center of Excellence on Energy Technology and Environment (CEE PERDO*). At CEE PERDO, Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of CEE and the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) and Manager of Hub Net Zero, introduced various initiatives aimed at advancing net-zero research and innovation in Thailand, highlighting Hub Net Zero’s role in driving these efforts with the support from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
