Hub Net Zero Joins TAS Annual Networking Activity Event, Fostering Collaboration with Korean Research Institutes

On 18 October 2024, Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of JGSEE and Manager of Hub Net Zero, participated in the Thailand Academy of Sciences (TAS) Annual Networking Activity where he delivered a welcoming address in his capacity as Head of TAS management. Organized by the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B), this year’s event was themed “Connecting Brainpower across Borders with the University of Science and Technology (UST), South Korea” and held in Bangkok.

PMU-B is spearheading the Future Graduate Platform under the TAS Framework, with a mission to cultivate high-skilled graduates through collaboration among academia, research institutions and industry. In September 2023, PMU-B and UST signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their partnership through the Future Graduate Platform.

Co-hosted by UST, this event sought to enhance cooperation between academic and research institutions in Thailand and Korea. It brought together representatives from Thai universities, UST and several of its affiliated research institutes to design action plans under the Future Graduate Platform. The event also included an information session introducing Korean institutions and their scholarship/fellowship programs to Thai faculty and students. Participating Korean institutions under the umbrella of UST included Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences (KIRAMS), Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB), and Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI).

With climate technology being among the focused areas of the Future Graduate Platform, this event provided an opportunity for Hub Net Zero members to engage with Korean counterparts and explore collaborative initiatives that will advance net zero emissions in Thailand.
